Zorya 1" buttons

Hello, i wanted to give you a short update on all pre-ordered CDs of Floex "Zorya. All packets are ready to go, however, since all preorders will have 1" Zorya buttons included, I've been waiting for the delivery of the button from French manufacturer. Button manufacturing was ordered in advance, however, the packet has been lost (stolen) on its way to Prague. I had to order a new batch of buttons this week and this batch has already been sent from France on Wednesday morning via airmail. The packet should arrive any day now. Tomas Dvorak "Machinarium soundtrack" LP will again be reissued on April 20th in an edition of 500 copies on 140 gram black vinyl. Even this reissue contain three art reproductions by Adolf Lachman and features a coupon with a code to download MP3/FLAC versions of the album. Album can be pre-ordered in the online store now and be shipped on April 20th.

Oblivion of 3/4HadBeenEliminated

The month of December saw the light of day two amazing releases, that barely made it to the top 10 magazines lists due to its late December release schedules of its publishers. One of those two is "Oblivion" CD by italian quartet 3/4HadBeenEliminated. 3/4HadBeenEliminated is Stefano Pilia, Claudio Rocchetti, Valerio Tricoli and Toni Arrabito, however, I have a strong feeling that this recording has mostly been achieved by Valerio Tricoli himself in Berlin using his revox tape recorder, various tape loops, voice and sensibly chosen field recordings. There's a sound mystery to get enlightened with every listen of this album to me. 3/4s departed from the harsh intriguing noises from its predecessor, while giving more space to lenghty ambient tracts building up dusky atmosphere. Haven't had any other album spinning on my player so long. Bravo Valerio! CD in deluxe tri-fold digipak can be purchased right at the publisher, Die Schachtel.

Italian producer Giuseppe Ielasi is featured in three-page article in The Wire #323, take a listen to a selection of tracks on The Wire site. The Wire #323 comes out on January 11th. In addition, Giuseppe Ielasi's "Aix" LP on Minority Records is listed within Dusted Magazine's Jon Dale top list of this year's releases. Congrats Giuseppe!

The new 8 song album entitled On tariffs and discovery has been recorded by the band in Winter 2009 & Spring 2010, mixed by Bryan Cook (Queens of The Stone Age, Fleet Foxes, Beck, Mercury Rev etc.) at Juice Monster Studios in Eagle Rock, CA. Mastered by Mike Kamoo at Earthling Studios in El Cajon, CA. Tracklist: 1. Call confessions 2. Oh pioneers 3. All new lows 4. D for dogs 5. Destroy a village 6. Freight train riders of America 7. Sharks teeth under glass 8. Newborn window The album will be released on February 7th 2011 as digital download only in both MP3 and FLAC formats on Minority Records.

ROBERT HAIGH "Anonymous lights" CD out September 23rd on Siren Records

After the critically acclaimed "Notes And Crossings" album released last year on Daisuke Suzuki's Siren Records, Rob Haigh prepared a superseder comprising of 14 pieces of both written and improvised piano music and a quite magnificent return to the timeless piano sound of his 80's classics. As press release states, "Anonymous Lights" is Robert Haigh's new album, that develops the sound of "Notes and Crossings". The album is comprised of 14 tracks, one of which (the concluding track, "Book of Fixed Stars" is over 11 minutes long. The formats are similar to "Notes and Crossings", short minimal compositions with a contemporary classical feel in places, but the album attempts to breaks a few tonal and compositional rules within the conventions of minimal piano composition. There are some subtle twists of melody and atonality at work and in some ways "Anonymous Lights" is a more personal and mature work than "Notes and Crossings". The album was mastered by Denis Blackham at Skye Mastering. In an edition 500 copies with hand-made miniature jacket sleeve and Japanese Obi designed by Faraway Press. Minority Records starts selling "Anonymous Lights" around on Sept 30th, more details incl. pricing in online store soon.

I'm happy to announce that Minority Records is stocking Faraway Press releases into its mailorder. Faraway Press has been run by Andrew Chalk, being active in Mirror, Ora, Marsfield minimal ambient projects as well as working under Ferial Confine moniker. All these stunning albums are released in limited quantities, all packaged in handmade mini LP style sleeves made of heavy cardboards with obi strips. As Andrew confirmed, he currently prepares a new Faraway Press release, this time on 180gr LP and limited to 300 copies only, to be released this Fall. More details soon.
